Design Thinking goes Business Model Creation
A good idea is only as good as its realization – something very well known to artists, creatives and inventors alike. There are many good ideas and plenty of approaches for their implementation. But how to make a running business out of them?
In the workshop session we would like to engage the participants in Business Model Creation following Design Thinking and the Business Model Canvas. We will focus on one business idea as an example.
During the session the participants will learn the key basics of Business Model Creation:
- Which fields are on the canvas? Which questions have to be answered?
- How to fill the different fields on the canvas?
- When is creative brainstorming necessary and when market research?
- How do the fields interact?
The goal of the session is to convey the basics of Business Model Creation and how Design Thinking can help to structure this process. You will work with familiar examples and learn hands-on how to create a business model.
Design Thinking is an innovation method, developed by the innovation and design sonsultancy IDEO and the University of Stanford. There are three key elements: multidisciplinary teams, flexible space and a creative and analytical process. Design Thinking puts the user and his/her needs in the center and follows an iterative approach to develop innovative products, services and processes.
