Google’s advertising solutions – and how they can benefit small and medium-sized businesses



Small and medium-sized businesses face unique challenges. Their owners often enough don’t have the time to constantly monitor their advertising campaigns. Every Euro spent on advertising needs to provide a ROI; especially on small-scale budgets. Google’s advertising solutions are capable of providing quick insights on how well the chosen advertising goals are met, and how to optimize running campaigns further. This session will focus on how Search Advertising with Google AdWords works in general, which unique ad formats Google has to offer and how these can be used best for SMB’s local advertisement. It will also include a look at Google’s free local products such as Google Maps and Places.

Dominik Osterholt started with Google in 2008, working in the DACH Sales team in the European Headquarters in Dublin. During this time, he focused on small and medium-sized businesses and supported these advertisers in setting up and optimizing their AdWords campaigns. He also wrote for the German Inside AdWords blog and initiated the German AdWords Twitter Account @InsideAdWordsDE. After moving to the Hamburg office in early 2010, he now delivers trainings to SEM and media agencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and consults them in their Search, Display and YouTube advertisement strategies. Dominik holds a Master Degree in Sociology from the University of Münster.
